Let's Get Rid of the Smoke

When trying to rid your home of the smell of smoke after a fire, here’s a few things to keep in mind.  Remove any “soft goods” from your home like throw rugs and drapes that can trap odors.  Also, consider having your air ducts cleaned, since offensive smells can also be trapped in this area of your home. Insulation is another area where smell can become trapped, and the first picture here shows new insulation being installed in a customer’s home after SERVPRO of Vacaville cleaned the home after a fire.  The second picture shows a hydroxyl generator, which our crews set up to safely remove odors, kill germs and clean the air.
